Suddenlies

God is so good. Pam and I were traveling down the highway recently, talking about how good God has been to us. He has taken two poor, broken, undeveloped kids, counted us faithful, and put us in the ministry. Not only did He put us in the ministry, but He has also allowed us to travel completely around the world on two different occasions, allowed us to minister in at least 22 different countries of the world, and connected us to people, churches, and ministries on every continent of the world. It’s not lost on me that we have more friends outside the United States than inside.

When we began traveling in itinerant ministry in 2001, we did not know where we were going, nor did we fully know the reason we were going. All we knew was that God said, “Go,” and we didn’t have the guts to tell Him no. I still don’t have the guts to tell Him no. I wouldn’t tell Him no, even if someone offered me one million dollars in fresh, unmarked bills.

We have seen thousands saved, healed, delivered, and filled with the Holy Spirit. We have seen almost 1,800 pastors and leaders across East Africa trained and released to their assignments, who this Sunday will impact almost 80,000 people for the Kingdom across five countries in East Africa. Please understand, I’m not bragging on us; I am bragging on God because I know where He has brought me from. And I am grateful I am not that untrained, poor, scared little boy I was in 1980 when Pam and I married.

But as I write this newsletter, my heart is heavy to know there is so much left to be done. This year, I will qualify for Medicare. I still can’t draw my Social Security (and I’m not sure I want to), but I AM old enough to have some experience.

My heart is heavy today because even though we have seen God do so many miraculous things, and yes, I know the best is yet to come, it’s almost like nothing has ever happened. The multitudes that have been saved, healed, delivered, and baptized in the Holy Spirit, and yet, here in the United States, in churches Pam and I are allowed to minister in, it’s almost like nothing has ever happened.

And yet, the Bible still speaks about the suddenlies! Acts 2 still reads,

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting…..”

I know it sounds like I am having a meltdown, but I am not. In spite of all that is wrong with America, in spite of all that is wrong with the American church, I am convinced God still has a “suddenly” scheduled for us.

And suddenly…

Yes, God still moves in times and seasons. And there are some things about the times and the seasons that God doesn’t fully tell us about. He said that to the disciples as well.

Acts 1:7 “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”

Many things are uncertain. But we are NOT hopeless people. What we do get to know is:

God still loves us.

Jesus is still Lord.

Holy Spirit’s power is NOT diminished.

Jesus IS STILL coming back to set up His Kingdom on this earth, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.

I don’t know the day nor the hour that Jesus is coming. All I know is He is coming. And I am confident, not because a prophet told me so, not because it is a part of Revival Now’s statement of faith, I know because scripture made it clear:

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

  • Acts 2:17-21

Be encouraged today, my friend. He has NOT left us nor forsaken us.
